Art like Air
Up at 4 am to write my ‘morning pages’. I couldn’t write fast enough. Words just pouring out. Heart racing. Why the need to constantly produce the next project? It’s like I finish one thing and already I’m creating the next. Why can’t I just stand still? I kept asking this question.
And finally on the third page of scribbling, the voice answered, ‘Because you need to give shape to all the ideas that float through your head. Don’t you get it? These projects are not the problem. Your opinion of them is. People would kill for all the creativity you have. What if you accept that you need to express? That it’s part of your Divine DNA. Express from where you’re at. In public or private. The choice is yours. But don’t try and convince yourself you don’t need to. Your art is like air… the essential ingredient for life.”
Let the truth be told…
