Between you and me, Soul

Paula: Okay Soul, I’m listening. Why is it that the moment I postpone a project I have a deep desire to actually go ahead with it?

Soul: Because the pressure is off.

Paula: What pressure?

Soul: The pressure you place on yourself. Paula, the creativity you love and thrive on doesn’t fit into a box. It is as free as the wind.

Paula: Tell me about it! But don’t creative artists need some structure? That is, I find that when I don’t have some boundaries, my mind is all over the place and I can’t focus on creating any one thing.

Soul: Yes, your mind is all over the place. It’s thinking everything from, “I got to get this done” to “What will ‘they’ think when I do?” That’s not creativity. It’s dictatorship! Your mind has you marching to orders. Do you remember when you wrote the song, ‘Stillness Speaks’? You sat at the piano in the quiet of the night and listened for the song. It found you. Within a few hours, a complete and hauntingly beautiful song was born to this world.

Paula: Yes, I remember well. I still can barely sing that song I’m so moved.

Soul: I know. And yet that song has wings Paula. Souls are hungry for it.

Paula: I’m just waiting for the perfect producer for it.

Soul: Never wait. Waiting is a fool’s game. Put the intention forward and begin walking. And then notice how your world reorganizes itself to support you.

Paula: That’s why I’ve set aside March for my writing and music.

Soul: March is 18 days away. That’s waiting.

Paula: God, I hate your wit!

Soul: No you don’t Paula. You love my honesty. Start with the deep intention. Stay connected to this conversation. I have much more to say.

Paula: Should we go offline with the conversation?

Soul: Nope. If somebody reads these words on your blog, they need to hear this too! Can you trust that?

Paula: Absolutely! Thank you.

Soul: Any time.

What a beautiful sharing of an intimate, soul-ful conversation with Spirit. As your wisdom declairs - as I read your words, I needed to hear them too. Keep trusting!
