Get Moving
I’ve been inspired to move my body lately. I’ve become so aware of how much I sit in my daily routine… sit at my desk, sit in my car, sit to read a book, sit at my piano, sit to colour with Hanna. Sit, sit, sit.
I love to walk. I used to live in the inner city and walk to get groceries — only buying what I could carry home. Now I live outside the city and I drive everywhere. As I listen to my body, I notice how much driving fatigues me. And as this city balloons, so do commute times. It seems I can spend much of my day just getting from place to place.
But what is underneath this fatigue I periodically feel? Do I think I should be accomplishing more? Am I not okay with where I’m at? Am I missing the scenery on the journey?
Questions flood my mind. Much is shifting in me. I love it! It’s time for newness… and some new choices, including to honour that my body needs more physical activity right now.
As we move, energy moves in and through us. The body re-balances, blood is refreshed, endorphins are released. What a miracle we are. Honour what your body needs right in this moment. It knows.
