Seeing from the Inside Out

Well, it’s in… the video of my concert. I haven’t yet watched it. I’m excited and scared honestly. Excited… because the night was so magical. Scared… because I have no idea what it will be like to ’see’ myself. This concert was one of the first big things I’ve done in my life where my ’success’ wasn’t defined by a particular external outcome but rather a feeling inside. It’s a whole new way of performing for me.

So, the last thing I want to do is watch this video and start dissecting the concert from a technical point of view. Years ago, that’s the only way I knew how to watch a video of myself… see what I did wrong and fix it!

I know I’ll watch the video… the excitement (and curiosity) will kill me not to. But first, I want to really capture in writing what that night meant to me on a heart level. Then I’ll be able to watch the video with new, softer eyes and a heart filled with pride.

It is interesting that my eyes are closed in the picture… isn’t it?
