Surge

I was getting into my car. I glanced up to see a man at the parking lot’s pay station machine. He appeared frustrated with the machine. As I glanced down to buckle my seat belt, I noted I had a valid parking pass for the full day. I didn’t need it anymore as I was heading home. And then like a surge of lightning, it occured to me, “Pay it Forward”.

I jumped out of my car and rushed to the man just as I saw him swipe his credit card through the machine.

“Sir… Sir… you can have my ticket…”

I literally tackled him down. Good thing he was a big man. We both looked at the machine… fancy that, his credit card didn’t go through.

With a huge grin, I handed him my ticket. “It’s valid for the full day.”

“That is so generous of you.” he replied.

Sure is… as I skipped back to my car. What a surge of delicious energy that was! And in that moment, I just knew June’s Journey of Paying it Forward is perfect! Will you join me?
