Winter Solstice

Winter Soltice is upon us – our longest time of darkness. It is the turning point to greater light, as nights grow shorter and days grow longer.

In this moment, I honour darkness. It is against this silent backdrop that we may see the light – a reflection of light that lives inside every man, woman and child.

Christmas is a celebration of light. A star shines brightly on the birth of a new baby boy – that birth representing the birth of new beginnings in each of us.

As we turn our faces toward the light of a new dawn, let us embrace all the sentiments of the season: the warm glow of family and friendship, the reflections of the year gone by, and the hopeful anticipation of a new year ahead.
